Sheboygan, Wisconsin Mayor Bob Ryan has summarily dismissed the city’s human resource director, Angela Payne.
No reason has been given for Payne’s departure, although Ryan hinted at workplace tensions. She joined the city in February of this year. Payne was previously a business ethics and language arts professor at Governors State University in University Park, Illinois.
The city’s Common Council appointed Payne to the position for five years, at $75,000 a year.
Sheboygan is a city in, and the county seat of, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. The population was 50,792 at the 2000 census. The city is located on Lake Michigan at the mouth of the Sheboygan River.
